Tweel’s Wheels™ was born out of a vision to make play more inclusive for all children - regardless of their abilities.
Mainstream toy and bike companies have long overlooked kids with physical disabilities, ignoring the needs of 8% of the world’s children. This isn’t just a social gap, it’s a massive, untapped market opportunity that demands better solutions.
At Tweel’s Wheels, we create adaptive play products that are accessible, appealing, and affordable. Our flagship product, an adaptive bicycle, can be customized to each child’s unique needs and preferences, at a competitive price.
Traditional bikes aren’t built for children with mobility challenges. For kids with poor balance, muscle weakness, or impaired coordination, riding a standard bike can be frustrating or impossible. It robs them of the joy, freedom, and independence biking should bring.
And while adaptive bikes do exist, they’re often:
- Prohibitively expensive - on average 15x more than a standard bike
- Difficult to find - not offered at major retailers
- Clinical in design - more resembling medical devices than playthings
We believe kids deserve better and that’s why we’re building bikes that are:

Our Approach
We don’t build in a vacuum. We’re actively co-creating with the families, therapists, and kids who use our products through hands-on user testing, community events, and continuous feedback. We work closely with a growing network of pediatric therapists, clinicians, and adaptive play specialists, who help us stay grounded in what kids with physical disabilities truly need. Their input shapes everything from product features to fit to safety, ensuring our solutions support movement, independence, and joy. This commitment to listening and learning fuels everything we do.
As we grow, we’re working toward a broader ecosystem of inclusive play solutions, so that every child, regardless of ability, has the chance to experience the joy of movement and the power of play.

Our Team
We’re powered by a small but mighty team who are deeply committed to reimagining what inclusive play can look like.
Our core team brings experience across user-centered product design and development, marketing, business strategy, and customer engagement.
Our founder, Lauren Tweel, a mechanical engineer and MBA, has deep experience in product management, human-centered design, and entrepreneurship. Lauren’s background spans companies like Apple, GoDaddy, and various startups, and her work is grounded in a mission to solve real problems for real people - especially those too often ignored by mainstream products.
In addition, we’re guided by key advisors with years of experience in consumer product manufacturing and pediatric orthopedics. Their insight helps ensure our bikes are not only functional and beautiful, but also built to last.
